Research interests

Avril is interested in understanding the complexity of life in all its manifestations, which she has done through the study of mammals. In her undergraduate, master and doctoral degree work, she has focused on ecology, population dynamics and habitat use by ungulates (elk, european wild boar and roe deer) and lowland paca. She has also participated in environmental education projects on the conservation of mammals at risk of extinction in the state of Oaxaca, Mexico. Avril is currently entering the field of macroecology, analyzing distribution and richness patterns of terrestrial mammals in different ecosystems worldwide.
